April is Child Abuse Prevention Month |
|
April is Child Abuse Prevention Month. Help us celebrate by wearing blue (Blue Monday) on the five Mondays of the month. Deep blue was selected as the representational color of the bruises that some abused children suffer. Talk to your friends, neighbors, and colleagues about what our community can do to prevent or reduce the lifelong damaging effects of abuse and neglect. Over a million children in the United States suffer substantiated abuse or neglect every year. Read our pamphlet about Adverse Childhood Experiences and share the information with others. Make a contribution to Safe Harbor Support Center to help us continue our mission. Together we can change the lives of our children.
In honor of Child Abuse Prevention Month, Safe Harbor is releasing our instructional booklet for children called, “Puzzled About How YOU Feel?” It is designed for anyone working with children who may have stress related behaviors including teachers, counselors, physicians, childcare providers and others. The booklets are sold in packs of 25 ($25), 50 ($50), 100 ($100) plus postage and handling. An order form is posted HERE .
